Well Cements and Drilling Fluids
Trabits Group holds licensed intellectual property which gives Trabits Group, on a worldwide basis, the right to make, use, sell and sublicense for use zeolite-containing cement and zeolite-containing drilling fluid technology developed by Halliburton Energy Services. This specialized cement and compatible drilling fluid technology have applications in conventional oil and gas wells, heavy oil steam cycle wells, high temperature geothermal wells, and in fragile formation wells such as coal bed methane and shale gas. The zeolite-containing cement technology has the additional property of lowering the heat of hydration of curing cement. Zeolite-containing low heat of hydration cement has application in permafrost completions and in ground source geothermal systems where HDPE pipe is used.

Trabits Group has successfully completed development of a lightweight high temperature/high pressure well cement under a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy. The developed cement builds on existing Trabits Group zeolite-containing cement technology and exhibits thermal stability to 300°C with improved resistance to carbonation. The project began in March, 2010 and was completed in January, 2015. The Department of Energy provided funding of $2,154,238 which was matched with $950,189 in cost share by Trabits Group and industry partners.
Trabits Group is a 50% partner in Oreana Energy, LLC. Oreana Energy is a Nevada company that holds geothermal and zeolite property in Pershing County, Nevada. The company's geothermal property is within the Colado geothermal resource area located north of Lovelock, Nevada. The company's zeolite holdings are located west of Lovelock and have a minable resource of the natural zeolites Ferrierite and Mordenite. This deposit is unique because of its large size and the occurrence of the rare Ferrierite zeolite.
